To construct the house, score and cut out all
the pieces on this page. Glue the 2 sections of the
building walls together. Fold the model into a box
shape and glue the tab to the inside to close. Set this
section aside to dry. Fold down all 4 panels of the
roof and fold under the glue tab. Glue the tab to the
underside of the opposing roof panel. When dry,
attach the roof by applying glue to the tabs along the
top of the building and setting the roof in place. Fold
the chimneys into a box shape and glue the tab to
the inside. When dry, fold up the triangular tabs along
the bottom edges and glue to the roof as shown in
the photograph or as desired.
The sign and advertising posters are optional
and can be placed on the building as desired.
DISCLAIMER
The designer has made every effort to make
sure that all parts fit together properly, but at 15mm
scale tolerances are tight and mistakes do happen.
Pieces may fit together differently than designed
depending on the weight of cardstock being used and
the particular tolerances of your printer. It is
recommended that you test fit all pieces before
applying glue. Some trimming and other adjustments
may be required during final assembly.
To construct the ruins, start by making all the
scores before cutting out. Fold the inside and outside
walls along the horizontal score line and glue the 2
panels together to form a 2 sided section. Set this
piece aside to dry before going any farther. When
completely dry, make the single vertical fold near
the center to form the piece into a corner. Carefully
cut out the white space in the centers of the window
frames and then cut away all remaining white space
around the outside edges of the building walls. Fold
the walls back into a corner and fold the glue tabs up
so they are on the inside. After cutting out the base
and gluing it to a heaver piece of cardstock, fit the
walls into the corner at the edges of the sidewalk
and glue in place. When dry, cut out the floor tile
(the one with all the rubble) and glue in place on the
inside of the building over the glue tabs. The glue
tabs along the bottom edge of the wall have had a
texture added in case there is any misalignment along
the edges where the floor tile and the bottom of the
building walls meet.
To construct the cement pylon, fold into a long
box shape and glue the tab to the inside. Fold down
the triangular tabs, apply glue and fold the top panel
down into place. As with the building above, the
posters can be placed as desired.
IMPORTANT! PLEASE NOTE:
These models have been marked with a series
of grey lines to indicate where to fold. In most cases
the grey line will appear at the edges of the building
pieces and not on the buildings themselves. It is
strongly recommended that all scores or fold lines be
made before the piece is cut from the page. In most
every case the grey line will appear at the top and
bottom of a line that needs to be scored. Line up
your ruler along these grey lines so it is even and
score across the body of the section you are intending
to construct. In some cases, such as the roof lines
and peaks along the building tops, the grey line will
appear when it is hidden by another adjoining piece.
For the majority of these pieces the areas needed to
be folded will be between walls or across wall faces.
Some of the pieces in this set may have one half of
the glue tabs textured. This was done to hide any of
the white of the paper that might show on the tab
side when folding and gluing in place.

These models were designed to be printed on
110# cardstock (available at your local office supply
store), but a lighter cardstock will work just as well.
If your printer cannot print on cardstock of any
weight, the pieces can be printed out on plain white
paper (20 lb. bond, uncoated) and glued to a piece of
cardstock or suitable heavy paper for construction.
It is recommended, however, that the bases be glued
to a heaver cardstock to help support the buildings
and add durability to the finished models. Bases can
be glued to heavy chipboard, foam board, illustration
board or any other type of heavy material as desired.
