ADJECTIVES – przymiotniki       

*opisuje rzeczownik   a nice girl, a heavy bag itp.

*po czasownikach ‘zmysłowych’ > look, taste, feel, smell, sound

It looks nice.

It smells lovely.

*stopniowanie przymiotnika

regularne:     

 

krótkie 1-sylabowe i 2-sylabowe zakończone na …y, …ow, …le

dark – darker – darkest

big – bigger - biggest

nice – nicer – nicest

easy – easier – easiest

narrow – narrower – narrowest

 

dwu i wielosylabowe

beautiful – more beautiful – most beautiful

boring – more boring – most boring

 

nieregularne:

good – better – the best

bad – worse – the worst

little – less – the least

many – more – the most

much – more – the most

far - farther – the farthest *(w przestrzeni)

- further – the furthest *(w przestrzeni i w czasie)

old - older – the oldest *(wiekiem)

-                    elder – the eldest *(rangą)
