VPNs with Tinc
In our Know-How section we show you
the new Tinc daemon. Tinc is a Virtual
Private Network (VPN) daemon that
uses tunnelling and encryption to create
a secure private network between hosts
on the Internet.
Because the VPN appears to the IP
level network code as a normal network
device, there is no need to adapt any
existing software. This allows VPN sites
to share information with each other
over the Internet without exposing any
information to others.
Ion window manager
Present-day graphical user interfaces are
far less usable than they are praised to
be. Most command line and other text
mode programs are simply much more
usable once you get used to them, but
are limited in their output capabilities.
We take a look at the Ion window
manager that addresses the navigation
problem by having the screen divided
into frames that take up the whole
screen and never overlap. This unique
window manager is a different solution
to solve a common problem.
