Chapter One
Eww, eww gross ! Catarena Vaughn thought as she read the instant message that
popped onto her screen. This was the fifth message in less than two minutes and each
had been worse than the previous. It was becoming increasingly obvious a girl just
couldn’t lurk on a cyber sex site in peace and quiet without being harassed.
BlackCat: No, I don’t want to pretend to be your sister and cyber with you.
Catarena typed back, muttering “freak” to herself as she closed the box. Sitting back
in her chair, she took her fingers away from the keyboard in disgust. This was so not
going the way she had planned. It was astonishing the things people would do to get
off in this day and age, and with a million people available at the click of a mouse, there
was someone out there willing to act out even the most bazaar of fantasies.
As a writer, she found it completely amazing, but as a single girl in Los Angeles,
she found it completely frightening. Catarena wondered just how many of these guys
she had let buy her drinks in a nightclub thinking they might be the one, when in
reality, they just wanted to tie her up and pee on her. It was a very scary thought.
Scrolling down with her mouse, she checked all the names listed on the side. It was
almost easy to figure out everyone’s fetish from the names they made up. There were a
few daddies and naughty subs, even a few Masters, which she was the most interested
in. Catarena had been playing around with the idea of writing a novel about BDSM, a
subject which intrigued her, but also one she knew nothing about.
Fetish.com chat room boasted the most diverse clientele in California and Catarena
had secretly hoped to exchange information with a female sub who she might be able to
pump for information. The one thing she noticed was although the clientele was large,
it was mainly made up of males. Trying to find a female in this crowd was beginning to
look damn near impossible.
Catarena had IM’d a few ladies, and to her amusement three of them were actually
men pretending to be women and the other was afraid to talk to her off-line. It was
beginning to appear her good idea wasn’t going to pan out after all. Catarena couldn’t
write a tame romance novel to save her life. There was just something about her writing
style and inability to keep her characters politically correct that mainstream publishing
houses frowned upon. She had always known she was a writer—it had just taken
fifteen years and a binder full of rejection letters before she dared allow herself to try a
different avenue.
The very first time Catarena had picked up an erotic novel, she had been hooked.
The passion and the boldness of the story had intrigued her so much so that she’d
completed a short story of her own. The feedback she had received so far was
encouraging. Since she now knew she was leaning in the right direction, Catarena
