After installing Chinese support via Control Panel, press alt+shift to switch between English and Chinese mode. While in Chinese mode, you can type in english by first pressing shift. to ｔｙｐｅ／ｎｏｔ ｔｙｐｅ ｌｉｋｅ ｔｈｉｓ （ｗｈｉｃｈ ｌｏｏｋｓ ｓｕｃｋｙ ｉｎ ｎｏｔｅｐａｄ）， ｐｒｅｓｓ ｓｈｉｆｔ ＋ ｓｐａｃｅ． or just use the toolbar to do all this. If you're using the pinyin IME, then obviously, you use pinyin to type.
