A GOOD DIET

It is common 1 knowledge that the way we eat influences 2 our lives. Eating is one of the basic
activities performed by all living organisms in order to survive. However, not many people
nowadays eat simply to satisfy their hunger. Eating has become a ritual, a social activity in
which everyone takes part. Because of the development of societies, peoplesÓ culinary needs
have also risen 3 . We take pleasure in both preparing and eating sophisticated 4 dishes.
While it is true that a varied diet is good for our health and enjoying the meal brightens our
spirits, it must also be remembered that there are some products which, however delicious 5 ,
should be avoided as they are dangerous to us in the long run. The effects of using a bad diet
include tiredness, irritability 6 , impatience, nervousness and headaches. It may also result in
low concentration and bad behaviour in children. Some eating habits and bodily reactions to
certain kinds of food are inherited from parents. Others are developed in early childhood. It is,
therefore, important to take care of the diet from the beginning to avoid later problems.
According to scientists concerned with the issue 7 of healthy food, a good diet should
balance the bodyÓs need for nutrients 8 , which include proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and
water, and energy measured in calories. The intake of energy cannot be too big because the
overdose 9 of calories is stored 10 in the form of body fat.
In order to keep fit and healthy we should eat lots of fruit and vegetables that contain
natural vitamins and drink water. We should avoid sugar and products containing it like
sweets, cakes and biscuits. It is also recommended to give up eating big dinners and eat richer
breakfasts instead.
In short, we shouldnÓt eat the most delicious things and start feeding on simple and
tasteless 11 but natural products in order to live longer. The question is whether resigning from
the most common joy of life, which is eating forbidden 12 things, is worth living longer and
becoming rabbits? Or maybe it would be just as healthy to eat everything but in moderate 13
amounts.

hot paprika, then the flour, and stir until combined - take care not to burn it.
3. Add the stock and stir. Return the chicken pieces to the pan, adding a bit more stock if the mixtures
seems too dry.
4. Add half of the chopped parsley and bring to the boil, reduce the heat and 8 ÈÈÈÈÈ..for 10
minutes.
