Where’s your Bear Country? Over the last year, we’ve asked that question of Bear archers all
over the world. And for every one who answered, it was something different. We thought
we’d share some of these responses from our friends, families, partners and customers .
is is the “Scrape
Tree” where I took
my fi rst buck with a
bow. It is very near
where I grew up
and spent countless
days learning to
bowhunt as a young
man. Believe it or
not, the bucks are
still scraping under this old maple 35 years later. I do not get to
return to this area very often anymore, but when I do I feel like if
there truly is a Bear Country this is what it would look like.

My Bear Country is on
some property we hunted
up by a little country
church in Southern
Indiana. As a young boy
that was just starting to
bowhunt, I looked for-
ward to going up to that
church every weekend
with my dad during deer season. All in all, it was about enjoying
the outdoors with friends and family. ere is no doubt those
times created the passion that I have for bowhunting today and is
the reason why I want to share this sport with my boys as well.

What’s our Bear Country? at’s
easy. It’s hunting North America’s
most elusive big game animal, the
Whitetail deer. ere’s nothing more
exhilarating than taking down one of
these monarchs with a stick and string.
Pound for pound, no other animal can
provide you with more excitement...
and sometimes humility. But what’s
really neat, is the folks at Bear Archery
understand that. For this reason and
many others, we’re proud to call Bear
Archery our partner. And every time a
monster buck enters our sights, the last
thing we worry about is whether or
not our Bear bow is going to perform.
As a true testimony to this, in one
season alone, the Whitetail Properties
Team put 2201 inches of antler on the
ground while shooting Bear bows.
We’re looking forward to more visits to
our Bear Country.

THE TRUTH ® 2 OBJECTIVE:
An even smoother, quieter bow – beginning with draw cycle and through release –
without a speed compromise.
THE TRUTH ® 2 RESULT:
A bow design so inherently smooth and quiet that few, if any, additional vibration dampeners are desired.
A bow so energy-packed that it reaches speeds of 318 fps (IBO). Plus, a sturdy and more e cient bow system
that transmits more energy to the arrow and delivers more consistent accuracy – shot after shot.
They answer:
“It’s not one thing. It’s a total system advancement that began with The TRUTH® 2.
And this year, we’re taking those advancements even further across the entire line.”
THE DETAILS OF ‘HOW’:
e dramatic advances detailed below are found on e TRUTH® 2.
In 2009, these advancements are spreading even further across the entire Bear® line.
AXLE-MOUNTED WEIGHTED DAMPENERS. Four dampeners are positioned optimally at the
far end of the limbs where energy release occurs – for the optimal absorption of vibration.
MINIMIZED RISER REFLEX. e less the riser refl ex, the more forgiving and accurate the shot.
Plus, the smaller overall profi le improves maneuverability in the fi eld or treestand.
DUAL, ARC STRING SUPPRESSORS are integrated into the riser. ese
dual string suppressors were designed and optimized using high-speed
photography to counter the greatest amount of string vibration.
THE PERIMETER-WEIGHTED MODULAR SINGLE CAM. e powerful
single cam proves it is an engine for speed when e TRUTH 2 reaches
318 fps. Yet, the cam’s shape sets the stage for a smooth draw – including
an asymmetric power track that reduces friction and increases cable life.
Further, the cam quietly rotates during draw and release on a sealed,
stainless steel ball bearing. Likewise, the idler wheel pivots on stainless steel
sealed ball bearings. Smooth is built into every part of e Truth 2. And this
cam has 1in. modular increments and 1/2 in. post increments, including a
large segment of the draw length range that does not require a bow press.
MACHINED ALUMINUM PIVOTING LIMB CUPS are built with a side-locking tang on
e TRUTH 2 to create a rigid, “zero tolerance” fi t – increasing sturdiness and consistency
while reducing vibration. Pivoting limb cups maintain a tight limb-to-cup-to-riser fi t,
regardless of draw weight adjustment. And rubber isolation boots mean that the limb
never touches the limb cup (avoiding any direct transference of vibration from limb to riser).
ONE-PIECE, SLIM SYNTHETIC GRIP reduces vibration, minimizes hand torque and provides the
warmest feel in cold weather.
FLARE QUAD LIMBS. Ultra-short, flared limbs flex well beyond
parallel. Bear perfected the limb design through FEA (fi nite element analysis)
to evenly distribute stress during draw and release. Even stress distribution in
a short, lighter limb creates these advantages. 1 ) “SMOOTH” is the natural
result of lighter limbs accelerating and decelerating during release. 2 ) Beyond-
parallel limb position creates a short, vertical travel where opposing limb
movements cancel each other, rather than a forward thrust of conventional
limbs. 3 ) Even stress distribution allows for a more e cient transfer of energy
to the arrow; maximizing the reduction of vibration and noise.
