At the close oflast year (seems so long ago now,

from Ikrtford toToronto.Themission: toattend the
lirsl World ofAmiga showto lie held sincethe demise
ufCommodore. This year's sponsor was none other
thanWonderComputers,aCanadianfirmwithavery
strong commitment to the Amiga and the Amiga
market.
Whal struck me most about this showwasnot the
kind oftiling thai would have piqued my interests at
similar shows years before; things were still preLLy
much thesame.Oh, there werenew faces,andalotof
the old faces were missing; but the atmosphere and
general aura created were—similar. This bodes well
forAmigaTechnologies,thenewwingofESCOMthat
isworkingtoput Amigacomputersback intopeoples
mindsandhomes.TheAmigacommunity—inCanada,
iitleast—wasreceptive totheshow, and readyto buy
whateverdealershad looffer. And ihisbodeswell for
vendor support as well: seeing a willing market is
bound toconvincea fewvendors tostayon-hoard.
Now, noteverythingat theshowhadthebig"A"on
thefrompanel, Inoticedsomeol'ouroldfriendsat the
TPUG booth were playing around with a C-65. and [
also ran into a couple of the CW advertisers al the
show, jason Compton and Katie Nelson were there,
too;someofyouhaveseenJason'spreviousworkhere
orinhisovmAJnigaReport.JasonandKatiearestarting
a series on IITML in thisvery issue!
AnotherCW authorjoinedme at the showlo make
the rounds: Jim Buttcrlield. It's amazing how many
people Jim can draw to himself. This tan be a true
advantageifyou'rewithJimatashow,sincethebooths
are often crowded—settin" close toa booth thathad
sonn'thinglwantedloseeandsaying,"Iley,there'sjim
Bulterfieldrwasgenerallyenoughtoclearsomespace,
I also had a rather interesting chat with Matthew
Desmond,n-lwapparcntlvhadhopedtorunlntosome
8-hit folksattheshow.Mattwasratherpleasedtosee
theresultsoftheCPStestsresultswepublishedinCW
Issue-4, and could probably be heard for quite some
distance as he chanted, "1 won! I won!" While Matt
probably didn't think ofit al the time, whenever he
wins, so do we all.
In all, itwasan interestingshow, and I was pleased
to see a good turnout there.
Now, lets move ahead to thisyear. Naturally, there
hasbeenalotofexcitementovertheupcomingrelease
oftheSuperCPU.Intheissueyounowhold,you'llfind
an update on this project (in On The Horizon), and a
'sneakpreview'ofthe product itselfCpg. 2H). You can
