7mm Organza Ribbon:
MTR14-00 White x 1m.
Assorted Ribbon or Coloured Fibres.
Reinforcement Rings and White Card.
Tracing Paper and Pencil.
Craft Knife and Cutting Mat or
Paper Trimmer.
Sticky Fixers and P.V.A. Craft Adhesive.
Card Mount: GF06U-43 Linen White.
Cover the left front panel of the card with diamond
paper, and the right panel with the pink words paper.
Cut a piece of stripe paper to 6.5cm x 8cm and cut
in half diagonally to make a pocket for the left front
panel. Glue along the two right-angle edges only and
stick in place aligning at the fold and lower edge.
Cut two pieces of each type of the yellow borders
used on the front of the card (see main photo above)
to 6.5cm long. Check the position of each piece be-
fore cutting the end towards the centre opening of
the card to a 45 o angle and stick in place. Cut two
blue borders measuring the gap for length, check
and cut the angles as before then stick in place.
Set five equally spaced eyelets down
the open sides of each panel. To get
them even, mark the top and bottom
ones at 16mm from the edge then mark
the middle ones all at 28mm apart.
Glue one half of a large wooden
flower and stick over the pocket as
shown (main photo above).
Open the card up and cover the in-
side panels (see left), cutting the paper
for the two side panels narrower to fit
alongside the eyelets at the open sides
as shown. Use stripe paper for the left
panel, diamond for the middle and
pink texture for the right.
TO MAKE THE CARD:
With the card opened out, trim 5mm off the open
sides of each of the smaller panels, when the card is
folded there will be a 1cm gap at the centre.
Note: When trimming the paper to fit the panels,
always cut it a little smaller to leave some card show-
ing around the edges.

Cut 5cm deep pockets for each panel using a dif-
ferent pink paper to the one already on the panel.
Add a piece of border along each top edge and glue
in place at the sides and lower edges only. Add a
wooden flower to the first pocket and one overlap-
ping the middle pocket as shown.
Decorate a selection of white tags using any of the
spare pieces of paper, borders and images, I’ve also
cut some oblongs of white card and hole punched
the tops to make contrasting shaped tags. Use
re-inforcing rings if desired then tie ribbon or fibres
through the holes and insert the tags into the pock-
ets. Stick a wooden flower
onto just one of the back
panel tags or it will all get
too bulky.
Fold the card and push
one end of the white or-
ganza ribbon through the
bottom eyelet on the left,
bring it across the back to
the bottom right eyelet and
pull through to the front.
Pull the ribbon through to
about half way, then thread
up the card in a criss cross
fashion. Tie in a bow at the
top and trim the ends.

Now for the inside, cover both small side panels
with diamond paper as before. For the left panel, cut
two 5cm x 10cm strips of white card, fold in half and
score 1cm from the folded
edge. Punch two small holes
(using the eyelet punch)
through both layers on the
small folded section. Use d/s
tape and, avoiding the holes,
stick both layers of this sec-
tion together on each piece
to make two little books.
Tie a length of Pepita ribbon through the holes and
embellish both book covers and inside pages using
any spare borders, images and papers. Attach both
books to the left hand panel in the positions shown
(below left).
For the right panel, cut a 5.5cm x 11cm piece of
pink stripe paper with the stripes going vertically and
round the bottom corners (see photo
left). With the right side of the paper
facing you fold the top left corner
down, but not across the whole width
of the piece (leave about 15mm at the
right side unfolded). Set an eyelet into
the corner of the folded piece and
secure with a sticky pad.
Cut a 36cm length of ribbon and
secure it flat (so the tag won’t catch
on it) across the back of the pocket at
about 2cm from the bottom. Bring the
ends of the ribbon to the front and tie
in a bow trimming the ends to length.
Add a border sticker across just under
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARD:
This variation is a great way to use up a lot of the
leftovers from the first project, but the resulting card
is quite different. The only extra items used are
MTR14-10 Rose, MTR19-10 Rose and XL408U-03
Birthday Stickers.
Cover the two front panels in pink daisy stripe
paper leaving an edge of card showing all around as
before. Edge the panels each side with pink daisy
borders as shown (above right).
Cut the small pink daisy panel diagonally in half
before peeling from the sticker sheet and stick each
piece onto white card then trim to leave a narrow bor-
der all around. Attach these to the top and bottom

the white flap and add the
flower as shown. Glue in
place by the side and bot-
tom edges only.
Cut a strip of white card to
11.5cm x 4cm and round all
the corners to make a tag.
Punch a hole at the top and
decorate with borders down
the sides. Add a re-inforcing
ring and tie a short length of
Pepita ribbon through then
slip it into the pocket.
Using the picture (bottom
of previous page) as a guide,
type some birthday words
or phrases of different sizes
and fonts on the computer.
The first line of words needs
to be at least 37mm from the top of the panel and
with enough of a gap in the middle to take the ‘V’ top
and flower, the block of text should be about 55mm
deep in total. Print a draft copy on plain paper first to
check before using your scrapbook paper. Cut the
printed paper to fit the panel with 37mm of paper
above the text as mentioned, don’t stick in place yet.
Choose a small tag from the sheet and decorate
with any of the stickers keeping the tag-hole to the
left. Thread a 25cm length of ribbon through the hole
then glue the tag in place on the paper. Pull the ends
of the ribbon lightly across the paper and fasten on
the back. Glue this paper panel to the inside centre
of the card.
Cut a triangular flap the same width as the printed
paper panel above, it should be about 45mm deep at
the point and 15mm deep at the sides. Add the pink
daisy borders along the
sloping edges and stick
in place on the card. If
you find it just covers or
is a little too close to the
text, trim a little off the
top edge to fit. Glue a
wooden flower over the
point as shown.
Cut a 70cm length of
ribbon and glue across the
middle of the back outside panel. Cut a panel from
pink daisy word paper and, keeping the free ends
of the ribbon out of the way, glue the paper onto
the back of the card. Turn the card face up and tie
the ribbon in a bow across the front to hold it closed.

Cover the whole outside of the card with blue
diamond paper making sure it folds nicely before
the glue dries. Mark a point 4cm down from the top
on both front panels where they meet. Trim the top
diagonally off each panel from the fold to the mark.
Cut an 11cm x 3cm strip of black card, place
centrally over the closed card then mark and cut the
point so it fits perfectly in line. Glue in place over
the join to make the card into a pocket. Cut an 8mm
wide strip of diamond paper to the same length and
mark the top as before then glue in place.
Glue a 15mm wide strip of black card along the
bottom of both the front and back panels. Stick two
love spoon stickers at each side as shown, folding
them around the card so just the end hearts on each
sticker show at the back. Add the sticker lettering.
On the computer, type a variety of black thank you
messages in different sizes and type styles. So these
all fit nicely onto the paper the block of text should
be about 11.5 wide x 13.5mm deep.
Print the words out onto white paper and trim to 12
x 15cm leaving an even amount of plain paper on all
sides. Mount onto black card and cut around to leave
a 3-4mm border all around.
Cut a 6cm x 1.3cm strip of black card, fold in half
and staple to the top at an angle. Add a square of
white paper to the back of the panel for your personal
message, or type it in the middle of the thank you
panel before printing.
THANK YOU CARD:
I’ve made this gatefold card into a pocket design
with a pull-out insert. It would work just as well with a
birthday greeting and it’s a lot less ‘pink & girly’. The
extras you will need for this are black card, SR070P
