Flowers & Leaves

This little collection of cards uses the pink leaf and
flower papers from the dizzy range to make cards
with a bit of a late summer or autumnal feel.
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Creative Papers:
SR026P Skeleton Leaves and SR029P Flowers.
Burgundy Card: CRE07C.
Cream Skeleton Leaves and Pressed Acer Leaves.
Pink Gems: GEM13.
White Glitter Glue: STK021 Frosted Lace.
Micro Glitter in Orange, Yellow, Blue and Green.
Dries Clear Adhesive: ADH19.
Daisy Paper Punch: PPW101.
Mini Fixer pads: ADH18.
Double Sided Tape: ADH13.
Card Mounts:
SF04U-46 and SF08U-46 Hammer Cream.
TO MAKE THE MAIN CARD:
Cut a piece of burgundy card to 9cm x 21cm and
stick to the centre of the card front. Cut a piece of
skeleton leaf paper to 8cm x 21cm making sure the
leaves will be in good positions once the flowers
are in place and stick this over the burgundy panel
already on the card.
Cut two brown flowers from the flower sheet, don’t
worry about the red overlaps on them, they won’t
show once they are glittered. Cover them using blue,
green, yellow and orange micro glitters. These are
applied in random patches over all the petals but
always in that order (see main picture) to get a kind
of rainbow effect.
Use a brush to apply a thin coating of the dries
clear glue where you want the blue to be, sprinkle
the blue over these patches and then shake off
the excess. Add more glue beside/around the blue
and add the green glitter, shake off the excess as
before. Repeat the process for the yellow and then
the orange.
Once the glue is dry, mount these two flowers onto
the card using sticky fixers. Punch a daisy centre for
each from a pink bit of the skeleton leaf paper and
stick to the centre of the flowers. Add a pink gem to
the centre of each daisy to complete.
THANK YOU CARD:
Cut a piece of flower paper to fit the front of the
card, positioning it so a brown flower is a little above
centre on the right hand side.
If you prefer to cover both sides of the card, cut
the paper to twice the width and fold in half. Stick the
paper to the card, folding the paper and card as you
stick for a neat finish, then trim off any excess paper
from the open edges.

Cut out a brown flower choosing one with as little red over-
lapping as possible. Use the stickles glitter glue to make a
line around the edge of each petal and down the centre of
each. Add a line around the centre of the flower and then
cover the pink centre too. Set aside to dry.
Stick the greeting to a piece of skeleton leaf paper and cut
around it before adding a silver flower to each corner. Stick
to a piece of burgundy card and cut to leave a narrow border.
Add this to the card using sticky fixers. Attach the decorated
flower over the background one using sticky fixers and off-
setting the petals.
ACER LEAF CARD:
Tear a piece of skeleton leaf paper to 10cm x 21cm and
stick to the front of the card making sure the leaves fall in
approximately the positions shown. Stick two small pressed
Acer leaves to leaf paper and cut around each to make
square panels. Stick these to burgundy card and cut to leave
a 3mm border. Mount the leaf panels onto the card as show
using sticky fixers.
Cut two leaves from a spare piece of leaf paper. Place a
cream skeleton leaf over each of the lower printed leaves on
the card offsetting them as shown and glue by the stem.
Crease both the cut out leaves along the centre vein and glue
to the card, by the vein only, over the ends of the skeleton
leaves as shown. Add a pink gem to the stems to complete.
COPPER MAPLE LEAF CARD:
This card uses a landscape fold card (SL03U), cover with the
leaf paper positioning 2 leaves nicely on the front panel. Cut 2
skeleton leaves from spare leaf paper and highlight with a Sakura
glitter pen or glitter glue, use silicone to stick these over the leaves
on the card and then add a gem onto the stem of each pair.
Stick 4 outline leaf stickers (XL089U-24) onto spare pink paper,
cut and shape then stick, like tumbling Autumn leaves across the
card, using some solid leaf stickers to complete the effect. Add a
copper border sticker to the top and bottom edges and the Happy
Birthday wording with a gem stuck on the ‘H’ and ‘B’ to complete.
