Materials Required:
Blue sky paper 7cm x 7cm.
Felt scraps: Red, Blue and Yellow.
Embroidery threads: Green and Black.
Silver sequin stars: SEQ46.
Silver glitter glue: GLI46.
Thin card 7cm x 9cm and a scrap of White paper.
Small scissors, tracing paper and a pencil.
Fine tipped permanent marker.
UHU Clear adhesive: ADH01.
Card mount: AP33B-BL, Blue.
To Make The Card:
Trace all the shapes onto tracing paper, turn
the tracing pencil side down over the piece of
thin card. Retrace over the lines pressing firmly
to transfer them onto the card. Cut out the card
shapes and use them as templates.
Place the template onto the appropriate colour
felt for each piece of aeroplane and draw round
onto the felt using the marker pen. All pieces
except the aeroplane body are symmetrical so it
doesn’t matter which way up the templates are
when you draw round them. Cut the pieces out
and turn them over so any pen marks are on the
back.
For the aeroplane body, decide which way
you want it to face on the finished design, place
it onto the felt facing the reverse direction so you
can turn the felt over after cutting.
Using the photo as a guide, glue the wings
onto the body, the far wing is tucked underneath,
the near wing is on top and slightly further back
on the body so it gives the impression of diving.
Glue the sequins onto the wing tips and
tail. Cut four 4cm lengths of green embroidery
thread. Place two lengths onto each wing, fold
the ends gently round to the back of the wings
and glue into place.
Cut a 6cm length of black embroidery thread,
wind it round the middle of the propeller and
secure at the back with glue. Glue the propeller
to the nose of the plane.
Cut three 3mm squares of white paper and
glue them close together onto the body in a
slightly curved line. Run a line of glitter glue
along the top of the aeroplane body and a shor-
ter line from tail to wing at the bottom. Add a
tiny dot of glitter glue each side of the propeller
and leave aside until completely dry.
Glue the sky paper into the card and glue
the card closed. Glue the plane at a diving angle
onto the background.
