Dealing With Buyers There are 3 different types of buyers: 1. The Informed Buyer – has purchased sites before or he’s familiar with websites in general and knows how to run them. These are the easiest to work with from a transaction stand point, generally. Since they are familiar with site design, how websites work, and how Flippa works, they are usually the most accomodating and are willing to close transactions fast. *Most people will fall between the informed buyer and the clueless buyer 2. The Clueless Buyer – has never purchased a site and generally doesn’t know anything about website design or internet marketing. They are generally the hardest to work with. But, if you ease their concerns they should be fine. They’re also the biggest potential for further design work. So, treat them right and they could turn into more work down the road. 3. The Non-Buyer – never pays for the site. Follow the three step email process for dealing with these buyers. Never give them more than 72 hours to pay for the site, unless you feel that you can trust their circumstances or situation. You can generally sniff them out during the auction. Some Buyer Tips - Be fast and courteous with everyone. You never know when you can turn a bad situation or a misunderstanding into a positive one. One time I had a buyer file a dispute due to some misundersandings. After the dispute was lost, he ended up still doing more work with me. - Flippa Disputes: If a dispute is filed against you make sure you’ve done everything you can on your end to satisfy the buyer. You don’t want to lose a dispute because it looks bad and you can get Suspended. On the flip side, make sure you have tried to communicate with buyers who have not paid before you file a dispute. Contact them through Flippa and their personal email account. - Stay in contact with your buyers after the sale. Put them on an email list and upsell them on other products, affiliate deals, etc. These are people who know, like, and trust you so treat them like GOLD!
