Hail to the Kindreds!
Contained with this mailing is the AlThings 29 packet and the 2259 Annual Fees Assessment
form for Kindred membership within the Asatru Alliance. By executive action of the AlThing
23, the dues assessment per Kindred has been lowered to $50 per year payable upon
receipt of this letter. This fee allows you to support the general fund of the Asatru Alliance
which is used to pay operating fees of the corporation. By vote of the AlThing 23, any full
Kindred of the Alliance which did not pay the kindred assessment last year now owes for
last year and this year as well. If the assessment for your Kindred was not paid last year, I will
indicate it with a check mark. Further, any Kindreds which are delinquent in their assessment
when the AlThing convenes, will lose their vote at the AlThing until their assessment fees are
paid.
Please make copies of the AlThing packet and distribute to your Kindred. If you are unable to
do so, please contact me and I’ll send you as many packets as you require.
For any of you who do not currently subscribe to VorTru magazine, I am enclosing an order
form to help facilitate your subscription.

Announcements
The kindreds of Arizona and The Asatru Alliance Inc. Proudly announce plans for AlThing 29.
This historic gathering of Odinn’s Nation is open to members and supporters of the Asatru
Alliance. Come join us in celebrating the 22nd Anniversary of the Asatru Alliance.
WHEN : From September/Harvest 23rd through 27th 2259 Runic Era.
WHERE : At a reserved group site near Payson Arizona. This site has been used for
numerous AlThings in the past.
ADMISSION FEE : By reservation only. Advance payment schedule: $50 per individual
and $65 per family. At the gate: $60 per individual and $75 per family. Your admission fee
includes all meals and on-site lodging fees.
ALTHING : We will conduct a Formal Thing where delegates of Alliance Kindreds freely
discuss issues pertaining to the Asatru Community. All issues will be discussed in the spirit of
tribal unity.
RITUALS : A Tyr Blot will oficially open the AlThing on Thorrsday afternoon. Thorrsday night
Formal Sumbel. A Blessing of Steel during the Tyr Blot. A Satyrsday Odinn Blot. Ceremonies of
the Folk.
FEASTS : Every night. A Formal Feast of traditional proportions on Satyrsday night. A
continental style breakfast will be served every morning. The famous Spam breakfast on
Sunnasday morning.
GAMES : The 25th Annual Viking Games, events for all ages and prizes for all contestants.
SEMINARS : Will be presented by various Guilds and others of the Community.
BREWERS GUILD COMPETITION : The 25th Annual Mead Brewers Competition
will be conducted by the Brewers Guild. All mead brewers are invited to participate.
OTHER ACTIVITIES : A market for Asatru artists and vendors. An auction to beneit the
Alliance’s General Fund. A rafle to beneit the World Tree Outreach Ministry. Events for the
AsaKids.

Notes
Early registration is very helpful to us because it allows the various committees to plan for food
purchases and other necessary items. Payment does not have to accompany your registration form,
but it sure helps. There are however no refunds for no shows.
The grounds will be available on 9/23/09 at 2 PM for early arrivals. There will be no structured events
during the day, but we will serve an evening meal. Later there will be a social hour around the
campire, featuring mead and cookies.
This is the same site used for many previous AlThings. Free camping is available on-site for tenter’s
and RV’s. There are no utility hook ups. This is a U.S. Forestry group site, so amenities are limited.
The location has some of the prettiest views in Arizona. Nestled in a pine and oak forest at 6,000 ft
elevation with abundant wildlife present. We will explain camp safety during the event. Days will be
warm to cool with cool to cold nights. Plan accordingly.
Numerous cabins for rent are available close by, prices are reasonable. I suggest reservations before
the event.
The Village of Christopher Creek is located less than a mile from the Thing grounds. They have a
general store which caters to campers, but there is no gasoline available in the village. You should
gas up your vehicles in Star Valley about 18 miles west of Christopher Creek.
Your entrance fee includes four breakfasts and four evening meals. You are responsible for your other
meal requirements.
The peace is sacred! There will be zero tolerance of trouble makers. If you break the peace you
will be evicted, possible outlawed by the Thing, or prosecuted by local law authorities. Underage
drinking of alcohol is forbidden and will be cause for expulsion from the AlThing. Parents will be held
responsible for their children’s behavior.
Pets are not encouraged, but if you must bring them, they must be leashed and pose no threat to
the Folk.
There are a lot of chores and just plain hard work involved to produce an AlThing. Your help in any
area of need is very much appreciated. If you wish to help, tell the registration people when you
arrive and they will sign you up with the appropriate committee.
Mead brewers are encouraged to bring their best for Sumbel and other activities. There will be the
25th Annual Mead Brewers Competition and all brewers are encourage to bring a bottle to be
judged by your peers.
If you are driving to the AlThing, please let us know if you accept riders. If you need a ride, let us
know. Although we make no promises to secure you a ride, we will try to help. Also if you are lying
into the Phoenix airport and renting a car, let us know, and we will try and help you carpool to share

expenses. Distance from the airport to the Thing site is about 100 miles of nice four lane highway.
Ceremonies of the Folk are welcome at the AlThing. If you are planning a wedding, name giving,
or other special occasion, please let us know in advance so we can make proper arrangements.
Ceremonies of the Folk are usually conducted on Saturday evening.
If you are an Asatru vendor or craftsman, you are welcome to sell your wares at the AlThing. You are
expected to donate a suitable item to the AlThing fund raising auction.
All are encouraged to participate in the Viking Games. We will have heavy and light caber toss, light
axe throwing, spear throwing, hammer throw, javelin throw, a foot race, the pillage and cut and
possibly a few more. There will be games for the children and all participants will receive an award.
Everyone is encouraged to bring an item to donate to the Alliance fund raising auction.
If you have a Guild presentation or want to conduct a seminar of special interest, please let us know
in advance so that we can schedule your presentation.
Guests who are not a member of an Asatru Alliance Kindred must be approved personally by
Valgard Murray.
