Preface
Aim of this manual
This manual will provide you with all the information you will need to use
the BATCH
flexible
system. This principally includes
the system overview
installing and starting BATCH
flexible-
applications,
planning recipes (with BATCH
flexible
it is always apparatus recipes
which are planned, which is why the term recipe is used throughout the
manual
)
,
planning batches which depend on a production order and which use a
recipe to realize a concrete batch quantity,
the on-line operating and monitoring (O&M) of control recipes via batch
control,
the interfaces with the OS/PLC and bus systems and the requirements for
using the BATCH
flexible
-system,
planning and design aids for BATCH
flexible.
The BATCH
flexible
-software has been designed in accordance with modern
ergonomics. Using the system is easy to learn and is for the most part
self-explanatory.
The basic information regarding user operations includes descriptionss of the
corresponding menu commands. However no guidance will be provided on
filling out dialog boxes since this information should preferably be obtained
by using the on-line help facility.
Readership
This manual has been written for people involved in planning and designing
BATCH systems, operating and monitoring control systems, in installation,
servicing and also operational supervision.
Requirements
A basic knowledge of using PCs and of working with
Windows 95/NT
is an
essential requirement.
Validity
This manual is valid for release 3.0 of the BATCH
flexible

Standard
The BATCH
flexible
software is based on the international standards DIN EN
61131-3 (IEC 1131-3) for programming languages and on ISA-SP88.01.
Note:
The ISA-SP88 standard contains many ’can’ formulations.
Accordingly, the procedure part of the master recipe may,
for example, contain unit recipe procedures, recipe
operations and recipe functions. BATCH
flexible
implements set these ’can’ formulations in a manner
appropriate to practical requirements; for example, a
BATCH
flexible
recipe only contains one further
hierarchical level, which is designated an automation
function (AF). The AF can however take the form of a
unit recipe procedure, recipe operation or recipe function
(see Chapter 4, Recipe creation).

for your project planning, configuring and programming of an S7 automation
system, comprehensive user documentation is available which is intended to
